Meet Our Consultants
Bette Lamont
I learned about NeuroDevelopmental Movement® decades ago when I met my teacher Florence Scott, R.N., who had developed techniques to help children and adults recover from neurological gaps and injuries in a way that was more thorough, deeper, and sometimes beyond what I had ever before experienced.
Within a few months I became her apprentice and in the years since my training I have had the privilege of helping thousands of children resolve the issues arising from brain injuries, neurodevelopmental disorders, delays, traumas, neurological syndromes, spectrum disorders, abuse, strokes, physical disabilities and attachment disorders. My career has been full of the kinds of successes that cause me to wake up loving my work every day.
After practicing for two years in Northern California, I moved for six months to become an administrator for Ms. Scott's agency in Woodburn, Oregon, and then moved (home) to Seattle to found the Developmental Movement Center. Two years later a colleague, Nina Jonio, joined me and together we formed a non-profit agency by the same name.
Since 2008, I have been working not only from my home base in Seattle, but also throughout the United States, as well as Australia and countries in Europe and Asia, bringing this marvelous work to families as a one-on-one parent consultant, international trainer, lecturer at conferences, while providing interviews for radio and TV. In England, I participated in the creation of two films about NeuroDevelopmental Movement®.
The ability of NeuroDevelopmental Movement® to change lives, to see the true and authentic child or adult unfolding from the confusion of trauma, injury, and delay is the best career I could ever imagine.
I continue to see clients one on one, and since the 2020 pandemic we have developed powerful online tools and have graduated many children through our online testing and program development.
I look forward to talking to you about how I can help your and your family. I offer a limited number of free 30-minute screenings each month. Initial assessments are 3 - 4 hours in length and we reassess our clients every 2 - 3 months. I hope that you will take the time to find out more by contacting me.
Serving clients in person in Western Washington. Serving clients around the world via Zoom conferences.
